What is THE PYSANKA?

Pysanka is a very old traditional Ukrainian decorated egg, an important feature of Ukrainian cultural heritage holding many symbolic attributes and legends. This word “pysanka” is derived from the Ukrainian verb “pysaty”, which means “to write” in Ukrainian. It refers to “writing” on eggs.Today, pysanka symbolizes peace and freedom of the Ukrainian nation.
