2663 of Ukraine’s approximately 17,000 schools have been damaged by war, - and 326 of them have been destroyed completely, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Education.
The ones that remained, keep closing down due to air raid alerts.
Ukrainian children who became refugees face enormous obstacles of language barriers and unpredictable movements of their families. For high school students it means they will not finish school well and will not enter universities.
With the ongoing war and increasing inflation, many parents cannot afford quality education for their children. Children are robbed of stability, development and hopes for the future.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, as an emergency education response, we partnered with an online school that has been serving Ukrainian children by providing 3,949 of them with online psychological support and 7,586 of them with free access to Ukrainian accredited online school.
Online school gives the students access to quality non-disruptive education in a safe environment. Besides having easy access to an intuitive learning platform with Ukrainian accredited curricula, students are led by professional and caring teachers and are mentored by supervisors. Regular social-psychological activities improve psychosocial well-being of learners, help them redirect their attention from war and socialize with their peers.
